I am proud to say my son graduated from the fifth grade and will be in the sixth grade next year. I can't believe my little man is growing up so fast. I am not ready for you to be a middle school and start this chapter in his life where he begin to start finding out who he is and liking the young ladies. I want him to remain innocent and keep his childhood a little longer but I know that might not be possible with him starting middle school and being exposed to other elements of life I have tried to keep him sheltered from, but right now I have not going to dwell on that. I'm just so happy he passed the fifth grade and is moving on to the next chapter in his life. I'm also so proud of him for working so hard that he pulled himself out of resource classes at his elementary school, and didn’t let his speech impairment hold him back. My son is a determine and intelligent young man who is working towards making his dreams come true.
I have to brag some more about my son, Nasir. At his awards day at school he received three awards and medal. One of his awards was from President Barack Obama for academic achievement and on his last report card of the year he received 2As and 3Bs. Who says a single mom can’t raise an intelligent young African-American man.
