Hoop Dreams Realized

My son's dream of playing on a basketball team has finally been realized. After trying out for his school's basketball team twice and cut both times, he tried out for a church team and made it. I'm so proud of him and happy that he finally he gets to play on a team. It's been a dream of his since he picked up a basketball when he was a little boy to be able to play the game. Now he's on a team and his first game is this Thursday, November 20. I can't wait to see my little big man out on the court.

Need A Birthday Redo

On Friday, November 14, we celebrated my son's, Nasir, 14th birthday. I have to say this was one of his saddest birthdays because I wasn't able to throw him a party due to family illness and lack of funds, but my son is a trooper. Yes, he was a little disappointed but he looked on the bright side of it all by saying he had a great day overall from celebrating at school with friends to his uncle giving him $100 for his birthday to the small family celebration. I just wish I could have done more for him on this birthday because he deserves it. He's doing well in school and in just one week he will be having out patient surgery. I just wanted to do something extra special for him, so I've decided to redo his birthday and give him the party he deserves. I don't know if it will be before Christmas or after, but he will get his party.

#ProudMomMoment

I have to sing my son's praises. He got his report card on Thursday and made all A's and B's. He also made the AB Honor Roll. I am just so proud of him. He's starting his year in eighth grade out right.
